OUR STORY

About
A young startup that provides design consultancy for architecture, interior design, landscape design and adaptive reuse of heritage buildings, besides research & advocacy on heritage and urban issues. The firm offers pragmatic solutions for creating functional, aesthetic and socially-responsible designs. The mission is to shoulder the responsibility of creating a utopian society by using architecture as a design tool.

About the Founder
Aeshvarya Thakur graduated in Architecture in 2010 and shifted to a lesser known hamlet for 6 years to explore her rural roots, where she got to witness people bearing different backgrounds and lifestyles. It helped her realise the importance of a habitable space for every unique individual in different social contexts. Architecture, to her, is a social responsibility because basic tasks, like every single wall you raise or every single window you open, can have long term psychological and social implications for the users. Her designs follow a bottom-up approach, where little utopian niches carved out for individuals coalesce into a macro Utopian society for all. Closeness to nature has inspired her to take an organic route to each design with special focus on natural textures, landscaping and trueness of materials. Her heritage-minded ethos have inspired her to reuse dilapidated structures that act as functional links between past, present and future. An ardent advocate of participatory design approach, her designs are primarily inclined to be common-man friendly, rather than being selectively designed to please armchair critics.
